Join LCDW members for our March Meeting on Saturday, March 7th at 10AM.
Ed Yohnka is the long-time Director of Communications and Public Policy for the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois (ACLU). As the primary spokesperson for the state’s largest civil rights and civil liberties organization, Yohnka will discuss current threats to civil liberties, including abuse of power by the federal government, and steps that the ACLU is taking to challenge these abuses. He also will highlight concerns about efforts by the federal government and the White House to meddle with state-run elections, a move seemingly designed to limit access to the ballot for millions of Americans. From urging the Congress to pass the SAVE Act – which could disenfranchise millions of eligible American voters – and public discussions about “taking over” state-run elections in jurisdictions that have not supported the President in past elections.
This event takes place at the LCDW Office 10 N Lake St Suite 101 Grayslake, IL. Additional parking available across the street.
